Facial Reflexology

Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ (also known as Facial Reflex Therapy Sorensensistem™) is a holistic reflexology treatment carried out on the face; the client is fully clothed and lies flat on a treatment couch. It was invented, researched and developed by Lone Sorensen. Sorensensistem™ instructors and their students (therapists qualified by practical technique and written examination) are available worldwide. www.reflexologiafacial.es

What is Facial Reflexology?

Lone Sorensen developed this therapy with over 30 years of research and practical implementation throughout her entire international organisation and Lone claims she is obtaining effective results in many illnesses and dysfunctions of vital organs such as hormonal imbalances, neurological problems, brain injury, infertility etc.,

In my opinion this truly is an amazing face reflexology treatment. In essence this therapy is a combination of the wisdom of ancient medical traditions with modern neuro-anatomy to help improve the underlying imbalances, which often manifest in our bodies in the form of physical, mental and/or emotional issues.

Its effectiveness is found in its ability to encourage the individual’s natural healing processes to help maintain the health and balance of the whole body. It works by using gentle facial massage techniques devised and trademarked by Lone Sorensen for precise stimulation of reflex points, nerve points and zones on the face and scalp, sometimes on their own and often in combinations to stimulate the brain using the nervous system to send impulses directly to affect corresponding specific parts of the body helping to bring the body’s Chi (energy) back into alignment and balance.

Lone Sorensen describes reflex therapy as “A reflex technique based on the neuro-biochemical action that is caused by stimulating an area or a point, and which has both a general and /or partial effect in the entire organism.” Additionally, Lone describes Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ “as a therapy to treat organic, muscle and bone symptoms, to regulate the metabolism / hormonal system and to activate the micro-circulation, plus helping emotional symptoms like anguish, mental fatigue, lack of memory, insomnia etc. She also says, “If we consider our skin like the messenger that connects the outside world with the brain, it should not surprise the great effect that massage has on our minds.”

Most people find Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ beneficial for deep relaxation as each treatment can release endorphins that promote and calm the mind thus inducing a deep state of relaxation helping to relieve many of the symptoms of stress and fatigue. By coincidence, this technique appears to have a rejuvenating and uplifting effect on Client’s faces, as the blood is stimulated and lymphatic drainage helps to give them a naturally glowing complexion. Facial reflexology is a safe and gentle holistic treatment, which Lone Sorensen advocates, as being suitable for all ages and physical conditions.

What does Facial Reflexology Involve?

A course of treatments is advised and benefits often continue for some days after the treatment. Appointments take approximately 1 hour, the first of which includes a brief outline of the treatment and the client’s confidential health history information. The client is fully clothed and lies flat on a treatment couch. Clients are recommended not to wear cosmetics as in this treatment I use Lone Sorensen’s exclusive INCAearth 100% pure Rosa Mosqueta oil for the stimulation of specific points and zones on the face. Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ is a natural complete holistic complementary therapy. However, the practitioner may also combine it with foot or hand reflexology for additional Chi (energy) support when working on stomach and the digestive system reflexology zones in a technique known as the “Sorensensistem™ intestinal link balances”

Relax and ease tensions with Facial Reflexology

With over 10 years practical implementation and experience as a Sorensensistem™ therapist using Facial Reflexology I often see clients achieve very deep states of relaxation, which they say helps to ease tensions and give them a sense of improved wellbeing helping them to cope better with stress, worries, depression or constant health issues. Here in Cornwall UK, I have private therapy work at one of Cornwall’s most prestigious hotels and in this situation I find that facial Reflexology is an ideal holistic relaxation therapy for the guests as it may also have the added benefit of providing a natural rejuvenation (lifting) affect on the face giving clients softer skin complexions. I also use Facial Reflexology in a combination therapy treatment of 45 minutes Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ and 45 minutes foot reflexology – described by some clients as “total bliss relaxation”. You can read an article by Caroline Sylger Jones called “So what is facial reflexology” describing a facial reflexology treatment given by myself to Caroline at Hotel Tresanton. For persons already familiar with foot reflexology I would encourage you to experience Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ not only for improved wellbeing sensations but an interestingly side benefit from Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem ™ appears to be that it can also help to give a natural rejuvenation effect to the tone and texture of the skin on the face thereby helping to produce a naturally glowing and healthy complexion. Many of my clients tell me how impressed they are not only from their real improved health benefits, but that their family and friends actually remark how healthy their skin looks after each treatment. Finally, just to assure men – Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ is an ideal natural holistic therapy for men – especially for stress issues. There are no messy products; I just use Lone Sorensen’s beautiful natural rose oil – ethically sourced from her original contacts with South American Mapuche Indians. For more information about Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ I recommend reading Lones own words “The control of the body through the FACE” on her website (www.reflexologiafacial.es).

Facial Muscle Reflex Treatment Sorensensistem™

A dynamic facial muscle stimulation technique for lifting and toning all the facial muscles in combination with facial reflex therapy using Lone Sorensen’s exclusive INCAearth 100% pure Rosa Mosqueta oil. Facial muscle reflex treatment was developed by Lone Sorensen as a separate and original technique within “Facial Reflex Therapy” for facial muscle stimulation to help with recovery from neurological and brain damaged medical issues. I.e. recovering the facial muscles after stokes or for lifting the face muscles from illnesses such as Bell’s Palsy. I have introduced this unique facial muscle lifting technique with amazing results to also help smooth out wrinkles for many of my regular clients as part of their course of treatments for Facial Reflexology. Note – this treatment is also suitable for clean-shaven men wishing to improve facial muscle tone and brighten their natural appearance with this natural face-lift. I do not advertise this unique Facial Muscle Reflex Treatment as a separate therapy as I wish to stay true to the original Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™. However, as I also work as an independent therapist at Hotel Tresanton, St. Mawes, Cornwall, I am happy to use this unique natural beauty technique on Hotel Tresanton and non-resident guests should they wish to book a facial reflexology treatment with me.

My Reflexology experience

My reflexology practical experience often encompasses working with people who have life changing and challenging illnesses such as cancer and MS (multiple sclerosis) as I have had the experience of working as a reflexologist and comforting therapist at a hospice, and here in Cornwall I have gained much practical experience over a four-year period working with MS clients at Cornwall’s Merlin MS Therapy Centre.
